Every Wednesday, Local 1811-CA members wear green to work. Green is AFSCME’s color. When members across nine departments wear it on the same day, coworkers notice, new hires notice, and management notices. It shows we’re organized, and it shows we’re proud of the work we do for Snohomish County.
How to take part
- Wear something green. A shirt, sweater, scarf, lanyard, or pin all count. Union gear is great, and any green works.
- Make it every week. Showing up in green week after week, campaign or no campaign, is what makes it visible.
- Bring a coworker. Ask someone near you to wear green next Wednesday. That one ask is how it grows.
Why it matters
Wear Green Wednesday builds the habit of acting together. When bargaining or budget decisions get serious, a workplace full of green tells decision-makers the membership is paying attention before anyone says a word.
