Steward and member trainings are available two ways: take them on your own time through AFSCME's national Labor Lab, or join our own locally hosted Labor Lunch sessions. Both cover the same core skills, so pick whichever fits how you like to learn.
Self-Paced: AFSCME Labor Lab
AFSCME's Online Leadership Academy offers free, self-paced (and some live) courses covering steward fundamentals, grievance handling, Weingarten rights, and more — available anytime, from anywhere. Create a free account with your AFSCME member ID to get started.
Hosted: Labor Lunch Sessions
Prefer to learn together, in person, over lunch? Our own Labor Lunch sessions cover the same ground with your fellow members and stewards. Sessions are posted and managed through Eventbrite.
